Eve #WealthWednesday  Highlight 54: Marine Delorme, Community & Events manager at Artie

Can you share a bit about yourself?

I was born and raised on a French island near Madagascar called Reunion. I moved to France when I was 12 years old. I went to college in Paris where I studied foreign languages, English and Spanish. I lived for a little bit in Barcelona and moved to Los Angeles when I was 20 years old.

I didn't know what I wanted to do with my career but fell in love with filmmaking. I decided to go to film school at USC where I graduated in film and TV production and in between, had a baby who is eight years old now.

After getting my degree, I decided to meet and cold-emailed a bunch of producers I admire.

Someone I had interned with sent me to see a producer at one of the studios. He immediately connected me to Ryan Horrigan the CEO of Artie and his Co-founder Armando Kirwin. They gave me an offer and I've been with the company since then for three years.

What was your first investment?

My first investment happened during the pandemic. It was an online course with this incredible woman Natalia Benson. She is all about financial empowerment for women and is also a conscious business.

I started educating myself and understanding the power of investing. I loved the idea of stocks and being able to participate in the world economy is very appealing to me.

My first NFT was an Artie NFT. Our Co-Founder Armando helped me set up my wallet and that's how I got into it. Thanks to Artie!

How/why did you get into your space?

Three years ago, the company was a seed. It was a very small team. The idea of flexibility and openness by Ryan and Armando was very appealing to me. I had my daughter who was five at that time and needed me.

Artie was pitching intelligent avatars. I had always fantasized about working in artificial intelligence, it was a dream come true.

I started at the company as an assistant and office manager. I worked my way up to being in development with the skills I got from film school.

Pandemic started and things shifted. Investors came in and gave incredible advice. The company pivoted into mobile gaming and everything shifted to crypto and NFTS. We had our first drop from a couple artist from Mexico, Chocotoy. We also have our second drop and mobile games coming up.

What role do you play in the wealth space and why is it important?

Personally, I'm a huge advocate of health and wellness. That to me is number one.

As a community and events manager in Artie, the wealth that I'm creating and building there is connection. I love connecting people that may get along or have so much in common. That is wealth. There's nothing more important than friendship and having a sense of belonging. Having people that you can talk to that understand your language and evolve with.

There is nothing more special than people together.Getting them to connect, exchange ideas, and ask each other questions to create more education and spark ideas for the future. That's what we did in NFT NYC.

And now for Artie, we kind of locked our calendar for the year and can't really talk about it. It's going to be epic and exciting.

What do you believe is the most exciting thing you’ve learned and want others to know?

The concept of NFTs itself is revolutionary. I really want to learn more about DAOs. These two things are so powerful. There are so many of us who have big dreams and want to have a huge impact on the world. I strongly believe that and can't see us doing it without Web3 technology, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, NFTs, DAOs, and the communities born out of it.

Is there a person or a company that’s really inspired you?

In terms of NFT projects, I love my friend Maria Baños from Muses of Now. I love what she's doing. She has a creative agency and very much comes from an art background but uses NFT technology. Creating photographs with NFTs and collaborating with artists.

There's also MOONJELLY, a global community for ocean preservation and conservation. I'm excited to see them grow and watch everyone get inspired by what they're doing.

What advice would you give to someone getting started?

Invest in yourself. Don't be afraid to jump in and make an investment in yourself. Get a membership at Eve Wealth and make decisions that you'll learn something from it. Find a platform that you can fully trust, and connect with other women or leaders that can help you. Give yourself at least one year to learn and grow. Don't be afraid to reach out to people and ask.
